Co-founders Dave Rose and Sean Bolender established Waypoint Safety Consulting to help public safety agencies, small businesses, and public service offices solve complex problems and establish best practices. Seth Walker joined the team in 2024 as a managing partner and general counsel.

Chief Strategy Officer

Dave Rose, M.A.

Experience:  Dave Rose is currently the Campus Safety Director and Chief of Police at Denison University. 

  • Thirty years in law enforcement

  • Twenty years of command staff experience

  • Expertise in large event management (guest attendance over 100,000)

  • Supervised patrol operations, investigations, Special Response Teams, and support units

  • Successfully designed and implemented multiple police staffing studies

  • Conducted homeland security planning, to include visiting dignitaries like the President of United States of America

Education:  Dave holds a Masters degree in Anthropology.

Chief Operating Officer

Sean Bolender, M.B.A.

Experience:  Sean Bolender is the current Director of Public Safety at Ohio Wesleyan University. 

  • Twelve years with The Ohio State University's Department of Public Safety.

  • Ten years of human resources consulting

  • Three years of federal law enforcement experience with the U.S. Department of Justice.

  • College lecturer teaching Strategic Human Resource Management and Lean Management

  • Emergency Medical Technician

  • Former Underwater Search and Evidence Recovery Technician (USERT)

Education:  Sean holds a Masters in Business Administration

  • Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, dual majoring in Human Resources and Operations Management

  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certified

  • Lean Six Sigma - Black Belt

  • Completed the University of Southern Florida Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in the Workplace certification and the Racial Equity Institute's (REI) Groundwater and Phase One training
